est8 Psychedelic Mushroom Wordart

artwork by Victoria Dobbs

A closer look...

Victoria Dobbs designed this Estate of Mind Psychedelic Mushroom Wordart in November 2023. While walking the Philosopher's Walk trail through the est8's 20-acre forest this summer, Victoria spotted so many unique, mysterious, and eye-catching varieties of mushrooms, the most memorable in vivid purples. Inspired by the colors of the artist's palette, the rainbow of the Pride Flag, and the vividness of the visual universe in altered mindstates, Victoria chose bright, psychedelic colors, which are eye-popping against black backgrounds, and fit right in on tie-die.

est8 WATERCOLOR WORDART

artwork by Victoria Dobbs

A closer look...

The design for this Estate of Mind Watercolor Wordart was created in November 2023 by Victoria Dobbs. A splash of watercolor represents the in-development creations that begin to take shape during the artistic process. Here, the splattered paint merges the minds of two silhouetted figures. Their faces are turned outward, away from each other, representing individuals with different outlooks and perspectives, unified by their creative collaborations. I felt this captured the spirit of Estate of Mind, an intentional community designed to foster creative collaborations, between artists with a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences, and skills.

est8 Skull Wordart 2023

artwork by Victoria Dobbs

A closer look...

The design for the Estate of Mind Skull Wordart was created in November 2023 by Victoria Dobbs, who writes: I would love to say that the inspiration for this piece was something profound, representing the struggle creators have with the knowledge that sometimes it is only after our own deaths that our works of art begin to disseminate. But in reality, I was like "I should do something with skulls. Skulls look cool." And I don't mind admitting that because it's as valid a creation process as any other. Hopefully this will be validating to others who want to make art but feel hung up on feeling of having to conform to pretentious norms. Anyway, yeah, skulls look cool.
